I wanted a pair of wedge sandals that would stay on my feet, that I could slip on without having to buckle, and that were more street-tough than sweet. Reminiscent of footwear from the 70s, these sandals fit the bill. They are high, but because of the platform they feel less precarious than heels of a comparable height. They are comfortable and easy to walk in, although I wouldn't want to have to run in them. I am normally either a 7 or 7.5 and a 38 in European shoes and sandals. I got these in the 7 since they are open-toed and am glad I did. In terms of width, they work fine for my normal -to - wide feet but since I have skinny ankles I actually had to pull the laces tighter. (This is where an adjustable buckle could come in handy-- the tiny bit of elastic in the back strap lets you just slip them on, but you can't adjust the snugness except for tying the laces tighter.) Someone with very narrow feet might do better with a different pair of wedges. The dark dune is a great color for the summer and will go with just about everything. They are a little more urban-chic and a little more unusual than the kork-ease ava sandals that I was also considering. All in all, I'm happy I got them. Fast shipping from Amazon was also a plus.
